Daily experiences (UK only) - Rule 10: push and pull

«Terug naar overzicht

Building an excellent KPI structure is critical for implementing a good Performance Management framework for your company. It is the foundation for communicating and improving performance, day in day out. But how do you build a KPI structure that lasts? Rule 10 out of 10: push and pull.

Many BI projects are less valuable due to a great misunderstanding. Why isn’t the information used by management and employees? It is all there. We have automated the information flows. The data warehouse is full of excellent information that reveals the performance of the business. We have installed nice dashboards and analytical tools make it possible to dive into the information available. And yet, a small group of the company is really using it. Why? The way the information is distributed doesn’t cope with the natural way employees work. The information (in trend graphs, tables) should be provided using a push and pull model. Push the standard reports to the employees and teams by email or using physical process improvement boards. Create a moment where teams come together and discuss performance using the performance information. Make this daily moment to discuss performance and improvement possibilities. Use pull information for those that have analytical skills and want to dive deep into that information.  If you set it up like this the users of your BI information will increase to over 75% easily.
